The Giants welcome Cowen Indians from Webster County in an Inter-league match with another District 8 rival. These two (2) teams are primed to battle it out in 2009 to make the claim as the best team in the District.. The home team Giants in there fourth game in a six day stretch would take the field first, sending pitching ace, Tate Mayes to the mound to start the game. Tate still a little tight would hit the 1st batter, then struck out the 2nd batter looking and walked the third and fourth batters, Tate would leave after throwing his 20th ball, and Andrew Bishop would take control of the hill, with one (1) out and bases loaded. A communication error would occur between catcher Sam Hamilton and Andrew Bishop which resulted in a passed ball into the out field, alertly the Indians would send two (2) runners home. Andrew would strike out two (2) and walk one (1) to end the inning. After allowing two (2) runs on a mental errors, the refocused Giants would bat the cycle, all ten (10) players would bat, Sam Hamilton would lead off with a single, Andrew Bishop would follow with an RBI double, Wil Mayes would strike out swinging, Logan Tinnel would send a ball initially ruled over right field fence. Initially ruled a home run, the visiting coaches would investigate and question the call, saying the ball went through the fence, The play would then be ruled a ground rule double. Tate Mayes would card the second out with a grounder to first, Taylor Mullins would draw a walk, then Dustin LaVancher would record his first hit of the season by sending a shot into center field. Billy Rapp would follow with a walk, then Travis Miller would send a shot into left field. A second controversial call would ensue on appeal, Travis would be called out for missing 1st base, as a result the 6th run scored by Billy Rapp would be erased, in all the Giants would score five (5) runs in the inning
After one (1) complete inning the giants would lead 5 - 2.
Andrew Bishop would return to the mound and strike out the first batter, then throw two (2) pitches to the second hitter before being replaced on the mound by stud south paw, Logan Tinnel. Logan would get this batter to hit a grounder to Tate Mayes at first who would pitch the ball over to Logan who ran over to cover 1st for the 2nd out. Logan Tinnel would strike out the next batter. the Giants second at bat would see lead off hitter Sam Hamilton card a walk, Andrew Bishop would card his second hit of the game, Will Mayes would card a walk and during this inning, all three (3) boys score on passed balls. Logan Tinnel would make the 1st out of the inning, by popping the ball up to the short stop, Tate Mayes would earn his fee pass as he would take a fastball to the back. Taylor Mullins and Dustin LaVancher would go down looking to end the inning.
After two (2) complete innings the Giants would lead 8 - 2.
Logan Tinnel would man the mound and face six (6)Indian batters, walking three (3) and striking out three (3), He would walk the first two (2) batters, strike out the the third, walk the fourth to load the bases, the while striking out the the next two (2) batters, one (1) run would score on a passed ball. The Giants would return to the plate, Billy Rapp and Dakota Benton would card walks, Travis Miller would hit a pop up to the second baseman for the first out, Sam Hamilton would hit a ground ball to the second baseman who would tag runner Dakota Benton for the second out. Andrew Bishop would reach base on error by the second baseman, Will Mayes would card a walk, then Logan Tinnel would send his second deep ball of the game hitting the right field wall for his 2nd RBI double, and would reach third on a play attempt at home on Will Mayes, Logan would steal home on passed ball while Tate Mayes was up to bat. Tate would hit a ground ball up the middle where the pitcher would field the ball and throw it to first for the final out.
After three complete innings, Giants 13 Indians 3.
The top of the fourth would be the final bat for the Indians as they would send only three (3) batters to the plate, they all would walk back to the dugouts carrying their bats as Logan Tinnel found the strike zone and struck them all out looking. Due to the mercy 10 run rule, the Giants would not bat again.
