The Giants and Red Sox rematch. This game is the third game on the schedule between these two (2) rivals, the second game which was scheduled on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 was cancelled due to inclement weather and is still pending makeup. The Home Team Red Sox would send Game #1 Starter, Tyler Knight to the mound as they would take the field first. The giants would send six (6) batters to the plate. Sam Hamilton would go down on strikes and Andrew Bishop would follow with a walk, Will Mayes would take one for the team as he was hit by a pitch. With men on 1st and 2nd, Logan Tinnel would waste no time and drill the first pitch delivered through the infield for a base hit. With the bases loaded, one (1) out, Tate Mayes hit a grounder to the right side of the field to score a run on a sacrifice out, Taylor Mullins would go down as the third out. The Giants would Score one. The Red Sox hitters would face Giants Ace Wil Mayes, Wil would struggle and issue five (5) walks, he would get help defensively during a pick off play at third for the second out, Will struck out two (2) batters and surrendered two (2) runs in the inning.
After one (1) complete - Red Sox 2 - Giants 1.
The Giants would come back and send six (6) more batters to the plate, Billy Rapp would lead off with a free pass, Marshall Newlon and Dakota Benton would go down swinging. With two (2) outs, Sam The Man, I am, Hamilton would stroke a ball right at the short stop who would make a mistake and allow Sam to reach base safely, Scoring Rapp, Andrew Bishop would connect with a Knight Fastball and send it approximately three (3) feet short of a four bagger, he would reach 2nd safely, Hamilton would make 3rd. Wil Mayes would go down on strikes to end the inning. The Giants would tally one (1) run to tie the game. The Red Sox would come back with eight (8) batters again in the bottom half of the 2nd. The first batter would go down on strikes, the 2nd batter would hit a ground ball back to Wil for the 2nd out. The Red Sox would capitalize on a Giants error when the third batter would reach on an error. The next batter walked. Ace Pitcher Wil Mayes, morphed into The "WILD THING" from the movies and hit the next two (2) batters to gift wrap the Red Sox a run. Wil Mayes would expell his demons, and strike out the next batter. The Red Sox would get two (2) runs in the inning.
After two (2) complete, the Red Sox would lead - 4 - 2.
The Giants would send Six (6) more batters to the plate. Logan Tinnel would reach base on an error by the Sox, Tate Mayes would fan at three for the 1st out, Taylor "Speedy" Mullins would draw a free pass to 1st and keep on trotting to 2nd as Logan Tinnel had stolen his way to 3rd base. Billy Rapp came to bat and smashed a shot about 10 feet down the third base line, the swinging bunt would be effective as Logan would score. and Billy would card a base hit. Marshall Newlon would break out of his hitting slump and drive a shot into right field, scoring Mullins, Rapp would get caught between home and third in a run down for the 2nd out. Travis Miller would go down on strikes for the 3rd out. The Giants would even the game 4 - 4.
Wil Mayes would face only three (3) Red Sox Hitter, fanning the 1st two (2) and the third would hit him a grounder at which he fielded and tossed to 1st for the third out.
After three (3) complete inning we are all tied. Red Sox 4 - Giants 4.
The Giants would come to bat and send eight (8) members to the plate, Hamilton again strokes a hard shot at the short stop who watches it go between his legs off his glove. Slugger Andrew Bishop would stroke another ball into the outfield for a three bagger (triple), scoring Hamilton. Wil Mayes would hit a blooper into right field to score Bishop. Logan Tinnel would go down on strikes for the 1st out. Tate Mayes would also end his hitting slump as he would hit a shot into right field and card a double, scoring his old brother. Dustin LaVancher would go down swinging, Marshall Newlon would get caught looking for the 2nd and 3rd outs. The Giants would add three (3) more runs to their total. Wil Mayes would face his last batter and get the team and out, He would pass the hill over to his younger brother, Tate Mayes. Tate would walk the first batter he faced, but this base runner would get greedy and be thrown out at third by Sam Hamilton in an attempted steal. Tate would strike out the 3rd batter to end the inning.
After four (4) complete innings, the Giants 7 - Red Sox - 4.
The Giants with the momentum would send eleven (11) batters to the plate. We would score six (6) runs, Benton, Bishop, Mayes, W., Mullins and Newlon would draw walks, Hamilton and Tinnel would reach base on errors, and Tate Mayes would card his 2nd hit of the game and season. The Red Sox would send five (5) batters to face Giants Pitching. Tate would strike the 1st hitter out then surrender the hill to Andrew Bishop, the Arch Bishop of the mound would surrender a base hit, a walk, then fan the last two (2) batters to end the inning.
After five complete inning, the Giants 13 - Red Sox - 4.
This would be the final score as the game would end on time. The Red Sox would surrender eight (8) hits and ten (10) walks along with five (5) errors... the Giants allowed only one (1) hit, seven (7) walks and had two (2) errors. . |
